Mechanical design project manager
Under the supervision of the Engineering Manager, your main mandate will be to manage various projects related to production lines and manufacturing processes in order to improve the efficiency of the various manufacturing sectors, the quality of operations, equipment safety and the improvement of the plant's environmental performance.
Role and responsibilities:
- Analyze and find solutions to recurring problems impacting production line output;
- Design the parts related to the solutions found ;
- Define, manage and lead improvement, maintenance and safety projects for all plant equipment;
- Take charge of machine safety and lockout projects;
- Manage the external manufacture of parts in support of the warehouseman;
- Develop required automation modifications;
- When necessary, supervise the work of external suppliers;
- Follow-up to ensure that implemented solutions are delivering the desired results;
- Communicate and train operators and supervisors on the solutions implemented;
- Document the GuideTI CMMS software ;
- Assist production with daily monitoring of technical problems and ongoing improvements;
- Perform any other tasks compatible with your duties.
Skills :
- Mechanical Engineering Technology
- Minimum 3 years' relevant experience
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience in a unionized environment (asset)
- Software skills SolidworksAutocad 2D and MS Office suite (Excel and Word);
- Notion in machined parts manufacturing
- Knowledge of blowmolding / packaging (an asset)
- Knowledge of CMMS software (GuideTI an asset)
- Knowledge of lockout (Cadlock an asset)
- Autonomous and structured
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Good planning and organizational skills
- Good command of spoken and written French and English
