In Quebec, we have 2 plants: LAVO's main plant and head office in Montreal East, and Qualipak, a bottle-blowing plant in Laval. Here, we develop, manufacture and distribute products well known to Quebecers, such as La Parisienne, Hertel, Arctic Power, Spring Time, Comet and Old Dutch, not to mention numerous collaborations and production of private labels for our Canadian retailers.

Quality supervisor

Under the supervision of the Senior Quality Manager, the Quality Supervisor works closely with the production team to resolve quality issues, track quality deviations and incidents, maintain records and follow up on non-conformances in coordination with other departments such as Operations, Regulatory, Health & Safety, R&D, Purchasing & Sales, and Logistics.

Role and responsibilities:

  • Manage the team of staff members, motivate and develop direct reports within the framework of HR policies, for the benefit of KIK Consumer Products and the employee.
  • Oversee and coordinate the training of new employees and the annual training offered in the KIK training program and identify future training needs.
  • Implement new product specifications and ensure their availability to laboratory technicians prior to production launch
  • Prepare and carry out internal and external audits (as required). Participate in customer audits.
  • Analyze quality performance indicators.
  • Initiate and supervise corrective actions,
  • Write, distribute, maintain and monitor quality assurance standard operating procedures.
  • Compile, process and analyze the results of various tests, both internal and external, and make recommendations
  • Ensure the proper functioning of the destruction process for non-conforming products and materials. Ensure that the required documentation is submitted to the various internal and external stakeholders at the appropriate time, and follow up on the destruction of products.
  • Develop analytical methods to evaluate certain raw materials and finished products
  • Develop, implement and maintain various quality systems, such as stability programs, statistical process control programs, complaint analysis and management systems, non-conformance analysis and management systems, change management and evaluation system, as part of continuous improvement programs.
  • Write, distribute, maintain and monitor quality assurance standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure the proper functioning of laboratory equipment and optimize its use
  • Hold information and problem-solving meetings with your group
  • Assess, develop, train and promote your staff
  • Respond to certain customer complaints and support customers as needed in the use of products
  • All other quality-related tasks.

Qualifications/ Certifications :

  • Degree in chemistry, chemical engineering or related degree, and at least 4 years' experience in quality assurance.
    Attention to detail with a proven ability to effectively manage complexity and work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Experience in MANUFACTURING and TRADE UNION environments
  • PRESENTIAL position
  • Familiar with a variety of industry concepts, practices and procedures.
  • Uses experience and judgment to plan and achieve objectives.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Previous supervisory experience required. Autonomous, innovative and organized.
  • Membership of the Ordre des Chimistes
